Leanne grew up in a household, in which her father inflicted domestic violence on her mother. The parents separated when she was eleven. When he eventually moved out she said that she hated her father. At age 13 she was showing self-harming behaviour: Her body had signs of physical harm, she did not come home at night and got involved with drugs and prostitution. She was admitted to a hospital because of a self-harming incident in April 2005 but refused counselling. In June 2005, still a teenager, she resided with Alexander George O’Sachy, a 27 year old convicted drug dealer.
On November 2 2005 Leanne was interviewed by a youth shelter and disclosed information about her parents, drug use, prostitution and abuse of antidepressants. She wanted to turn her life around and become a hairdresser. Four days later she was in hospital again as a result of taking heroin, speed and morphine. She was placed under a child protection order and supposed to live at the Phoenix youth centre. But she ended up at O’Sachy`s place again by mid 2006.
O’Sachy battered her and his brother Daniel later reported to Child Safety, that he also called her „a fucking whore“. She was continously told by him to „kill herself“.
According to the court ruling Leanne committed suicide by hanging.
O’Sachy`s direct involvement could not be proven at court (but is likely).
O’Sachy has a history of violent and abusive behaviour against women.
