✝️ Shirley Marie Sherrill, age 18 – October 20 1982, Seattle, Washington, USA 🇺🇸 💔

18 year old Shirley was once on the drill team and loved to dance. The oldest of three daughters, Shirley grew up in a tightknit family and was involved in prostitution by 1982.
She was last seen on October 18th by a close friend. The two just had lunch at a Chinese restaurant in Seattle’s International District.

Serial killer Gary Ridgway was convicted of Shirley’s murder, along with the murders of forty-eight other women.

Shirley’s skull was discovered in Tualatin, Oregon, on June 21, 1985. She was identified via dental X-rays three days later. She was found close to another victim, Denise Bush. Her cause of death couldn’t be determined, but her case was deemed a homicide.

Ridgway acknowledged that, in an effort to throw off the Task Force, he moved Denise Bush’s remains and those of Shirley Sherrill to Oregon in the spring of 1984.
One weekend, he took his son on what he described as a „camping“ trip to Oregon. He transported the remains, with son’s clothes and bicycle, in the trunk of a Plymouth Satellite. Ridgway paid cash for his food and gas on this trip and was careful not to leave any record linking him to Oregon.

Ridgway is serving a lifelong imprisonment without parole.
