Cynthia was a First Nations woman and homeless.
She was savagely beaten and left for dead on the street. She dragged herself across the street from Midway Bar on Saint-Laurent Boulevard, in search of help, but ran into general indifference, probably because she was an indigenous prostituted woman and addicted to drugs.
She was found unconscious on the sidewalk by ambulance officers, who took her to the hospital, where she died soon after.
No suspects have been arrested in connection with her murder. The case remains unsolved.
