Yuan’é had arrived in France eight months earlier, in December 2011. She left China without telling her family and called her daughter a week later, once she arrived: „Everything’s fine. I found a job in the clothing industry. I’ll send you some money.“
She had joined the sidewalks of the Belleville district, where several hundred of her fellow citizens prostitute themselves. She died ten minutes away, in the tiny prostitution apartment she had rented.
Yuan’é was raped and strangeled to death by Tarek bin Ziaed, age 26, egyptian.
Her killer, found a few days later by the police, admitted to the murder. However, he denied the rape, which he described as a paid sexual encounter.
