Cheryl was stabbed to death by john Edgar J. Vega-Rubi, age 19. She was found lying dead in a parking lot.
Investigators believe Cheryl got into Vega Rubi’s car a few hours before she was found dead. Vega Rubi told police that he got into an argument with Cheryl in his car and stabbed her, police said. Then, police believe Vega Rubi either dropped her out of his car or she ran away.
