Jasmin was shot to death by Schenieder Joseph, age 27, and his girlfriend Lakeshia Thomas, 32. Her body was found by hotel staff in a pool of blood on the floor near the front door.
Jasmin had booked the room two months prior to the murder. A message exchange with Schenieder showed she was contacted by him, because she was a prostituted woman. He intended to rob her.
